Volair is owned by Knowsley MBC and operates 5 health and fitness clubs across the borough plus 6 satellite sites [schools] in community time. The company offers a wide range of leisure activities in modern facilities employing over 150 staff.   

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Commercial Manager to join our team. As the Commercial Manager you will lead our Sales and Marketing strategy, driving revenue and growing our membership base.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of product innovation & trends, developing sales, retention and marketing within the leisure sector, with knowledge of attaining growth and reducing attrition.
- Experience of staff management.

Key job requirements

1. To lead on commercial strategy to meet annual membership and other revenue streams targets.

1. To produce and implement an annual marketing planner facilitated with tactical promotional plans for individual sites and/or products.

1. Ensure the effective day to day management and leadership of the Marketing and Sales and Retention Teams, ensuring targets and objectives are met and service provision attains the level required.

1. To develop the corporate offer to increase the number of Volair Corporate Partners utilising Volair Clubs for memberships and other corporate benefits.

1. Develop Volair brand standards template and embed them across the organisation operationally and digitally.

1. Grow Volair’s social media presence, platforms, reach and engagements.

1. Develop and maintain Volair’s website & app effectiveness.

1. To develop and innovate the Volair leisure product in conjunction with colleagues.

1. To lead on pricing and promotions annual planning.

1. To embed the provision of high-quality customer services and products which exceed customer expectations.

1. To lead on the development and growth of outreach programmes with a view to increasing membership sales.

1. Lead the organisation and analysis of customer satisfaction surveys, complaints and focus groups.

1. To support Volair to advocate and raise the profile and benefits of sport and physical activity; this includes liaising with local, regional and national agencies.
